Vancouver Sun article: Swordplay, with a point.
We're in the lifestyle section of the Vancouver Sun today. Pretty good
article featuring Kaja front and centre. I think it speaks pretty
highly of us a nice nod to our museum, the historical nature of the
art and the physical benefits and demands.
could be spread about what it means to practice Western Martial Arts.
This is the second article that I can think of on us that gives the
impression that we use sharps and just stick rubber blunts on the end
of them. The other thing I thought was funny was a tailored quote of
me describing the 'diversity' of students who attend: "from history
students to history professors". (Yup thats everyone! :)) I enjoyed the piece and it's a pleasure to be covered in the Sun. Kaja
spoke well for us; thanks Kaja! I hope that you'll still talk to us
now that you're a media sensation. Thanks also to Len, Margaret, and
Emily who I believe were interviewed but didn't make the final story. All in all it's a good article even if some might think we're simply
the UBC History department's home away from home. Besides, maybe
that's true. Read the article here:
