Knight Camp Melee Action!

Today we wrapped up another Knight Camp to rave reviews. One of my
favorite parts of the camp is participating in the battle scenarios
that take place on the morning of the last day. In the morning all of
Knight Camp marshals together and marches up to a park that is a
couple blocks from the salle. The park is well setup, it has a
'stage' area that features multiple concrete levels with stairs and
ramps in between that provide an ideal controlled area for open field
and castle scenarios with the kids.

The students are divided into two equal armies and their commanders
come from the higher ranked students (those who have attended the most
camps). The first task is to come up with a team name -- extra point
for those that can be chanted well in battle; The photos included are
our two armies from this week's camp: the Knights who say IT and the
Knights who say Ni (apparently Monty Python's longevity continues!)

The battles were a ton of fun and I must say this group was
particularly good at holding their ground in our final Instructors vs
the World scenario. Often just being an adult and intimidating can be
enough to get a significant edge over even the most mature of our
students, but not this group. They held their ground and mowed us
down twice in a row.

A ton of fun and a great end to another great week.
